Caketastrophe

The Caketastrophe is an annual event.

Overview

Spiral Knights is celebrating its anniversary with a special event! Visit the Haven Town Square to meet the Skylark's Head Chef, Biscotti. She will inform you of a 'situation' at hand that involves hordes of monstrous cakes known as 'Creep Cakes.' Helping her solve this 'situation' will reward you with cake helms! — Forum Post

Gameplay

Arcade

Mysterious Rooms home to Creep Cakes can be found in areas that spawn in Clockwork Tunnels-Style levels in the Arcade during the event. Similar to Danger Rooms, these areas have a chance to randomly appear in appropriate arcade levels, but they are not gated. Players should be prepared for a fight when stepping on the party button in these rooms.

Prestige

Main article: Total Caketastrophe!
"Total Caketastrophe!" is a prestige mission that pits players against Creep Cake monsters. This mission can be completed once per day and is only available during this event.

"A Gremlin in Knead" is a prestige mission that pits players against electric Creep Cake monsters and features a mini boss fight. This mission can be completed once per day and is only available during this event.  

Rewards and Prizes

Maskwell will trade costumes such as the Prismatic Frosted Helm and yearly Anniversary Prize Boxes in exchange for Cake Slice tokens.

Confetti and Cake Slices are sold by Bulky.

Notes

• Haven will be decorated with festive cake banners. Known locations include the arch near the entrance to the Town Square and over the Auction House.

Since events last a short time, players like to figure out how to most efficiently obtain an event's prizes. For the Caketastrophe, this means gathering Cake Slice tokens.

Cake Slice tokens are obtained two ways: as prestige mission rewards or dropped in Mysterious Rooms colloquially referred to as "cake nests" after all creep cakes that spawn are defeated. Since the event's prestige missions can only be played once a day, getting friends together to search the Arcade for these nests is a good way to get as many as possible. Search alone until a nest is found, then invite 3 more people and step on the party button for a creep cake fight. Several creep cakes will spawn in waves. Defeat them all to receive several tokens that appear near the party button after victory is achieved.

Rooms found in deeper depths tend to yield more cake slices.

Remember to cash in your tokens before they expire!
